Hey There Friends!
I don’t have any particular theme for today’s post but I feel like writing so prepare for some randomness.
Today I did a little shopping for new boots. Girlie and I both need new fall boots. I got the brilliant idea of doing the first round without her so I took pictures of all the black girls’ boots I liked. Later I’ll show them to her and she can do some elimination. I may have taken pictures of the ones I liked for me too.
Yesterday I took Girlie to the new Kid’s Yoga class at our gym. Unlike the old Family Yoga class this one is a drop off. I busted my butt and completed my full strength training workout and 10 minutes of HIIT during the class. I really wanted to stay for the next yoga class but I didn’t want to push it with my elbow. It’s feeling a lot better but still gets kinda.. tired? easily. My chiropractor said that my elbow and neck are doing so much better that my next appointment isn’t for 3 weeks!
I was originally going to go for a run this evening but I had so many errands etc to do that I’m taking it as a rest day and I’ll either run or lift tomorrow. I wore my cute little gold flats at work all day then to run errands and they gave me little blisters on both my pinkie toes. That’s never happened before but I guess I’ve always just worn them to the office. Bah!
How cute is this guy?! Mac and I have been enjoying a new morning routine. Instead of sitting at the kitchen counter with my first cup of coffee I’ve been taking it into the living room. Mac and I sit in my favorite comfy chair to peruse social media and check email. He’s a super affectionate cat but he hates the camera so it’s hard to get a good picture of him!
Girlie and I each picked out CD’s at the library this week. I drive a lot for my job so I’ve been wanting to get something new to listen to in the car. I told her I’d let her listen to hers whenever she was in the car with me. Girlie picked out Kelly Clarkson. I got this:
I had this cool/surreal moment listening to this CD yesterday. I was stuck in construction traffic detoured through a less-economically-advantaged part of a nearby city. This man was walking along the sidewalk drinking from a paper-bag-covered bottle, simultaneously smoking a cigarette and I swear his strides were keeping perfect time to the beat. It completely matched the mood and lyrics of the song as well as the beat. It seriously seemed like I was in a music video or opening sequence to a movie.
Our library is working with a local comic book shop to extend Free Comic Book Day. They have this great superhero themed photo booth set up and if you tag the library on social media you get a free comic book. Girlie was my photographer.
I guess that’s all I have for Wednesday Whatnots. Anything random you’d like to share?
