It’s the first Saturday of December. Just in time for the Ultimate Coffee Date Link-Up with Lynda, Coco, and Deborah. We are smack dab in the middle of the holiday season when I find there just isn’t enough time to do everything I’d like with everyone I’d like. So instead of trying to get together with all my friends for coffee, let’s have a little virtual coffee date. Go ahead and get yourself a cup, I’ll sit here with mine and pretend it’s still fall.
If we were meeting for coffee I would be chatting about holidays and food and fitness and a new challenge that I’m doing.
If we were to meet for coffee I’d tell you that our elf, Ellison, has returned. She’s a pretty mellow elf, which fits our household well. I don’t know how families who get these active, mischievous elves handle it! 😉 I’d ask if you had an elf and how he or she behaves.
If we were to meet for coffee I’d tell you that I bought these cookies thinking that they would fit in Girlie’s advent calendar. They didn’t, which would be a bummer except then we got to just enjoy them. Serious Yum! I’d share the struggles I have trying to find non-candy items that fit in those tiny boxes (that little Nativity scene in the picture with Ellison was an advent calendar gift). I’d want to pick your brain for ideas. Then I would ask you about your holiday traditions. We’re planning our annual trip to Santa’s Village sometime soon and I’d tell you all about it!
If we were to meet for coffee I’d want to talk about taking care of our bodies and spirits during this holiday season. I’m doing my best to make workouts happen and get healthy meals on the table while not expecting perfection or beating myself up for enjoying treats or having to skip workouts. I’d ask you how you manage, if you have any particular goals for the next month or so. Along that line…
If we were to meet for coffee I’d tell you that I’ve joined the Holiday Hustle challenge that Athena from Fitness & Feta is running. (You may have already noticed my social media posts tagged #ffholidayhustle) You guys know I love doing challenges and this one is extra special! I’ll let the source tell you why:
“What is the Holiday Hustle challenge about?
THRIVING during the holidays! This challenge is about fun, community, small things you can do for yourself and for your health, focusing on how you feel instead of how you look, making connections, kindness, getting out of your comfort zone, and living in the moment. It’s about starting 2015 a little healthier, but more importantly with the right mindset because of positive choices you’ve made for yourself in December.
What ISN’T the Holiday Hustle challenge about?
SURVIVING the holidays. This challenge is NOT about comparing yourself to others, weight, obsessing about food or fitness, numbers on the scale, beating yourself up, negativity, stressing about doing things the right way, putting too much pressure on yourself, and just trying to get by. It’s not about starting 2015 frustrated with yourself and feeling down about all the things you “did wrong” in December.”
If we were to meet for coffee I’d want to listen to what you wanted to talk about! So talk to me about any of the topics above or just share something you’ve got going on. Then click on the button below to visit the link-up.
