Happy Friday Happy People!!!
Let’s take a look-see at my fitness endeavors this past week.
Sunday I forced myself to do my workout. I know I mentioned it before but I actually stopped lifting and ran on the treadmill instead. When I made that call I had mentally decided to switch to cardio only for the day but after 20 minutes my head was in a better space. It wasn’t pretty but it got done. MWGTST Level 2 Week 13 Lower Body. So not my favorite. I’m thinking that if there are a lot of front squats in Level 3 I may do some back squats instead. At the end of the workout I was proud of myself for not quitting.
Monday I started Week 14. This push workout is one of my favorites. It’s mostly upper body and it always seems to go quickly.
Tuesday I was going to do 10 -15 minutes of HIIT before yoga but I forgot my earbuds. I was all irritated ’til I remembered that the day’s challenge from #ffholidayhustle was “stress less”. So I quit stressing about the earbuds and let myself chill in the yoga studio for a while before class. My back and chest were soo tight from Monday’s workout so guess what we focused on? I swear sometimes I think Sarah (my fave yoga instructor) peeks at my training schedule! We always seem to work on whatever I lifted the day before.
Wednesday was my favorite workout from this block, Pull. If the trap bar weighs what I think it does I deadlifted just about my body weight!! Woo Hoo PR Baby!! I also did 7 consecutive unassisted chin-ups. 🙂 I listened to Serial during this entire workout. I am totally sucked in.
Thursday was my long day at work so my rest day at the gym. By the end of the night I was dragging. I drove an hour in the snow in rush hour, ran an hour and a half group, then drove home another hour in the snow (the drive isn’t usually that long). I was DONE.
Today is back to that lower body workout. I’m totally switching to back squats. I’m sure there’s a reason they want us to do front squats but every grip option bugs me.
