Monday Morning Coffee Break- A Very Marvelous Monday

April 20, 2015 By Kristen Leave a Comment

Happy Monday!!! wpid-2015-04-14-06-35-07-516.jpg.jpegThis is a very Marvelous Monday since my vacation starts on Wednesday. I won’t be blogging but I’ll probably be posting lots of pictures on Instagram.

Some reading for your Monday Morning Coffee Break. I won’t be taking much of once since today is my last office based day before vacation so I’ve got lots of little loose ends to tie up.

Those of us who maybe didn’t pay that close of attention in science or statistics class can sometimes get fooled by articles claiming correlations between certain things. Here’s a great reminder to pay closer attention to the facts.

“I don’t work to better myself because I hate myself, I work to better myself because I love myself”  A- MEN!

Maybe it isn’t the Natural Mom thing that got you. Maybe it is. Maybe you just need a reminder that if the point of a community is to make you feel superior over people who don’t have your “special knowledge” then it’s a crappy community. Or maybe you just need to hear today that “Being a mom is fucking HARD and sometimes I don’t like it. That is normal. It is ok.” Whichever fits, read this.

You might be noticing a theme to some my shares this week. It wasn’t intentional, I just bookmark things throughout the week then review them on the weekend. I think the theme is because I’ve been working really hard at getting ready to launch my health coaching business. This is going to be different folks. I want my clients to make changes because they love themselves, not because they hate themselves. And if they aren’t there yet? That’s ok, we can get there- one little success at a time. My clients will receive plans designed from knowledge of actual science- including behavioral science. I’m not selling quick fixes folks. My goal will never be to get you to X weight in X weeks. My goal will be to have you feeling healthy next year. And the year after that. And the year after that. Get the idea?

Outside that theme, I followed a link from Catherine  (if you haven’t read her you should!) to a new site she’s done some writing for. I got completely sucked down the rabbit hole (similar to buzzfeed) and read maybe 10 posts. Then I realized what The Mid stands for. The Messy Middle. Aka midlife. FML. (Which is also a fun site, fyi).

Happy Monday Friends!!  I’m joining Katie for the Marvelous in My Monday linkup– check it out 🙂
