Welcome to my first Fitness Friday of 2017! Writing these posts is inspiring to me so I’m back at it.
On Monday Girlie and I got ready to start The Modern Women’s Guide to Strength Training. We got to the gym and… they were closed. Fortunately I still have my LA Fitness membership so I drove her home and went to get my workout done. I was really excited to see that the squat racks were all in use… by women 🙂
Tuesday morning I went for a run. My training plan called for 20-25 minutes. Tuesday’s run was slow with lots of walk breaks.
Girlie woke up on Wednesday with a headache and scratchy throat. I let her stay home from school (and skip the gym, duh). This was my first evening workout at LA Fitness. (I usually go there for morning or lunchtime workouts.) I was a little worried about the after work crowds, especially the first week of January. It actually wasn’t that busy. And people were really polite.
Thursday morning was another 20-25 minute run. I felt fast and strong. I didn’t need a walk break until the halfway point and it was the only one I took. It was really chilly out when I took Girlie to school so I considered changing from my tank to a tee but didn’t. I was glad I didn’t though, the tank was perfect.
Today is an active recovery day. I took Spenser for a walk this morning but otherwise no workout. Girlie and I had thought about going to the gym tonight but open gym ends at 5 (and I have to work til 5:30) so we’ll go tomorrow.
