TGIF!!! Really, the first full week back to work after the holidays just seems to drag. I managed to make every one of my scheduled workouts happen though so I’m giving myself a big ol’ pat on the back.
Saturday evening I hit up the gym for strength training with MWGTST.
Sunday morning we woke up to temps in the 30’s here in Florida! Brrr. I put my run off until after church and was able to enjoy leggings and long sleeves. I was kinda wishing for capris by the end though.
Monday after work I had fun geeking out to Awesome Mix Vol 1 and got the giggles when “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” came on during my mountain climbers.
Tuesday morning I went for a run. It was cold and I was tired so it definitely wasn’t my best run. I didn’t even remember to take a selfie.
Wednesday morning I took Spenser for a long walk that totally tuckered him out.
Wednesday night I went to the gym for MWGTST. I listened to the season finale of the Darkest Night podcast. Wowza!! The whole season was really intense. If you like horror podcasts definitely check it out. I think a couple of people noticed my facial expressions and gasps at especially intense moments. Makes me wonder what they thought was going on.
Thursday morning I had an awful run. Lots of walking, my legs felt like they each weighed about 200lbs and I couldn’t catch my breath. I pretty much couldn’t have set myself up for a worse run if I tried. I had 2 glasses of red wine right before bed. I didn’t drink any water after. I had coffee and no water or food before the run. I decided to do a Zombie’s Run mission even though my training plan doesn’t call for speed intervals. Oh, and I overdressed for the weather. So, yeah, not a good run.
Today is my rest day. I’m also trying a little experiment. I’m having a mindful cheat day. It’s not the cheat days of yore with unlimited donuts and cupcakes and all the office candy. I’m just eating a bit more fat and carbs and more calories. But I’m still tracking in MFP. I’m interested in seeing how it goes.
