May Ultimate Coffee Date

May 7, 2017 By Kristen Leave a Comment

Hey There!

It’s been too long since we last sat down to chat over a cup of coffee. Since today is yesterday was the Ultimate Coffee Date hosted by Deborah and Coco it’s the perfect opportunity. Go ahead and grab a cup, I’ll wait for you to settle in.

If we were meeting for coffee I would tell you that I have started far too many of these posts but then I don’t get them published on Saturday. So today I decided to just be that person who is late to the party!

If we were meeting for coffee I would tell you how excited I am to finally be back on my fitness game. Things are changing in a positive way, primarily in my mindset (which is where change happens). Yesterday we went to a party and even though I was dealing with major social anxiety (ah well) I didn’t self soothe by eating half the food there (and there was a ton of food there!). I enjoyed the offerings that looked good to me but in moderation. It was still a cheat day but it never crossed that line.

If we were meeting for coffee I’d ask if there was anything you wanted to brag on yourself for. Any accomplishments or achievements you’d like to share?  Any goals you’re working on?

If we were meeting for coffee I would tell you that I’ve really been missing yoga. I didn’t realize how spoiled I was with the quality of instruction back at our old family fitness center. I now understand why folks will say that they don’t care for “gym yoga”. I’ve tried practicing along with videos and podcasts but it just isn’t the same for me. Fortunately the softball season is almost over and I’ve got the info on a yoga studio that’s right nearby.

If we were meeting for coffee I’d ask if you practice yoga. Is it something you can do solo or strictly a group activity for you?

If we were meeting for coffee I’d tell you how exciting it has been watching Girlie really progress as a softball player this season. At the start of the season she thought it would be her last but now she’s eager to continue. I never participated in team sports as a kid so this whole experience is new to me!

If we were meeting for coffee I’d ask about your kids. What have they been up to lately? Any brags or concerns you’d like to share?

If we were meeting for coffee what would you want to share?

–Kristen
