Last Friday we were on a mini-vacay so I didn’t post. Someday I’ll get organized enough to get that sort of thing done but not right now.
I didn’t get any official workouts in between last Thursday and Sunday although I definitely got a lot of movement in! Thursday was Girlie’s class trip to Universal so we walked over 6 miles. It was an amazing day. HH and I were a bit nervous about chaperoning a group of tween girls but Girlie has great friends and her teachers did a wonderful job of dividing up the groups.
We booked a hotel for Thursday and Friday night. Friday morning I did a little yoga by the pool while Girlie went for a morning swim. My legs needed the stretch! Then I just chilled for a bit while she swam.
Friday we went back to the parks and walked just under 6 miles.
Saturday we picked up Spenser at boarding and headed home. No official workout but I did run a bunch of errands. Any idea how many people were also at Walmart on the day before Mother’s Day? Sunday I did nothing. I sat on my butt, drank mimosas, ate treats, and enjoyed being spoiled by my family.
I hit the gym after work on Monday. I definitely felt all the treats from the day before. It most definitely wasn’t a day for PR’s. I even cut my reps short on the lunges. But I got to the gym and got the workout in, which counted for something. Friends don’t let friends skip leg day, right?
Tuesday night I took Spenser for a walk. I had planned to go to the gym but decided against it. He and I definitely needed a walk together.
Wednesday was another rough workout. Well, what I did was go too strong out of the gate and fail early. Basically I crushed the first half of my workout then didn’t have enough in me to finish strong. It was a primarily upper body day.
Thursday was my favorite: deadlift day! It had been a rough day but a great workout put me in a much better mood. Deadlifts were strong, I recently upped weights and did more reps/sets at that level than ever before.
That brings us to today. I’ve got a well earned rest day on the calendar. This weekend is another mini vacay (we took Monday off) but a stay-cation this time with a lot of beach time planned.
I want to share my goals for this long weekend. 1. Get 2 workouts in during the 3 days. 2. Keep the treats and drinks in check. Enjoy myself in moderation.
How have your workouts been this week? Any plans for the weekend or goals you’d like to share?
