Last week started out strong but then got a little nuts. Sleep is so important for me, I’m not sure how I survived the first few years of Girlie’s life.
Saturday’s workout was arms and core with 10 minutes of elliptical intervals. I actually remembered that adding just 5 or 10 minutes of HIIT can make a big difference. I swear the past few weeks have been me remembering things like that. The past couple years really threw me and suddenly I’m all, “Ooohhh, right, that’s how my body works. That’s how I like to live.”
Monday I remembered Saturday’s lesson and ended chest and back day with 10 minutes of elliptical intervals. I don’t think the A/C at my gym is up to the task of Florida summer.
Tuesday was a scheduled cardio only day. I think this is the first time I’ve actually done it since starting this
new old program. I did this quick, sweaty cardio from Athena. Speaking of Athena, if you want more quick at home workouts like these check out her new Fit on the Go Program. I was super sweaty because I took it outside on a humid Florida summer day. Check out the RealFeel!
Wednesday I was dragging. I got really poor interrupted sleep Tuesday night.
I managed to catch a nap on my lunch break though and I was determined to get a workout in. Doing leg day on not enough sleep kinda sucks. I was tired and wanted to go home. It didn’t help that the gym was super crowded and I had to do my workout out of order. I finished though.
Wednesday night Girlie came down with a summer bug. Thus Wednesday night’s sleep was worse than Tuesday’s. I wound up with a migraine and spent Thursday afternoon and evening curled up on the couch with Girlie. Various pets joined us.
By lunchtime on Friday Girlie was back to herself. Yay!! I went to the gym and squeezed in shoulders. I thought about adding HIIT but there just wasn’t enough time.
Saturday was a Disney day! No gym workout but I walked a little over 8 miles. Sunday was Disney in the morning and errands in the afternoon so no gym workout but I walked about 5.25 miles.
That’s it for my workouts since my last Fitness Friday post! Do you have anything you’d like to share? Ever work out in pj’s? Are you someone who needs a lot of sleep or can you skate by on just a little? I definitely get migraines whenever I don’t make sleep a priority.
