A few months ago I was approached by Swanson’s Vitamins to try getting my supplements through them instead of my regular stores. They gave me $50 to try so I clearly jumped at the opportunity!
I had really been wanting to try stevia, oregano oil and xanthan gum. I was just about out of coconut flour and my tea cupboard was looking pretty sad too so I took the opportunity to restock my basics while I was at it. Once I filled up my cart with those items I was surprised to still have some credit left so I picked out something else I had been wanting to try: Quest Chips.
The first half of my order shipped and arrived quickly.
Unfortunately it was a bag of Quest Chips that delayed the second half (isn’t that how it always goes?!) but customer service was super friendly helpful and responsive and I was able to get the rest of my order quickly.
I’m not a fan of artificial sweeteners but had read so many recipes by bloggers I respect that include stevia that I was willing to give it a shot. I still haven’t actually tried cooking with stevia yet (I didn’t want to healthify any holiday baking). I have really liked using it in my homemade hot cocoa.
I am a total convert to oregano oil !!
An old coworker of mine swore by it. She would take it the minute she got that first “I’m coming down with something” feeling and would manage to fight off all kinds of crazy colds and bugs. (And we worked at one of those places that always had something going around!) Thanks to Swanson’s Vitamins I finally tried it this school year and we have managed to dodge almost everything. The minute Girlie, HH, or I starts to get that tickle in the throat or worn down feeling (especially when we know there’s something going around) we take a softgel then another the next day. We’ve managed to either avoid getting whatever it is completely or have had very minor cases. The only drawback is that we have pizza burps for the rest of the day.
I definitely like xanthan gum too. It’s a food thickener so I add it to my protein shakes to make protein ice cream. It turns a simple protein powder, almond milk and ice smoothie into something more like a Wendy’s Frosty. Amazing after a workout on a hot Florida day!
The only disappointing thing from my order? Those dang Quest chips. Definitely too healthy tasting. Ah well.
Working with Swanson’s Vitamins was great! Their customer service was incredibly helpful and they have a huge selection of products for a low shipping cost.

Have you ever tried any of the products from my Swanson’s Vitamins order?
Interesting. I had wondered about those Quest chips but will pass if they taste healthy! On the other hand, I would not have considered the Stevia—-too many horrible memories of other sweeteners—but might try that now. Thanks!
I’ve been really curious about xanthan gum–I need to go grab some! I wanna make protein ice cream! <3!
