I know I’ve shared before about how much of an introvert I am. I talk here about what it means for me. It doesn’t mean that I’m shy (although my history of social anxiety can do that). Introversion just means that I get my energy by being alone and I use my energy by being around other people. My loved ones like HH and Girlie use very little of my energy but being around them still isn’t quite the recharge that being alone is.
The past several weekends have been full of events and trips with friends and other families. This weekend HH’s friend flew in from back in New Hampshire. Saturday night the guys went out and Girlie had a sleepover so I took the opportunity to fully recharge my introvert batteries!
Saturday evening I hit up a pretty quiet gym for my workout. I was able to push through Superheroine Fitness Episode Three Adventure Two, which is no joke!
My plan had been to stop at Costco for a rotisserie chicken and salad kit on my way home but (Doh!) I forgot they close early on weekends. So I headed home instead. I poured a glass of wine into my Haunted Mansion wineglass and took a well deserved bubble bath. And scrolled through Uber eats.
After my tub I got into my new Wonder Woman pj’s and binge watched iZombie while finishing my wine and eating pad thai. Oh, and thanks to my goof I found my new favorite Thai delivery place!
The guys got home around the same time I was ready to turn in but I still read a couple chapters before actually going to sleep. Anyone else pretty much always have to read at least a page or two before going to sleep?
Sunday morning the guys were still pretty sleepy so I hit up a nice, relaxing Yin Yoga class before Girlie got home.
Girlie got home around lunchtime Sunday and we spent some time together. Then I spent the rest of the afternoon working on laundry (and watching more of iZombie)while the guys hung out by the pool and Girlie recharged her own batteries in her room.
By the time Sunday dinner rolled around my introvert batteries were completely recharged. I was ready for a good dinner with family and an old friend and to face the work week ahead.
Are you an introvert or an extrovert? How do you recharge yourself?
