Macro Bites 2 Ways

November 14, 2018 By Kristen 2 Comments

Hey There Friends- I promised you I’d post these recipes and here I am!

Over the summer I discovered something delicious. G Butter. No, this is not a sponsored post. I wish. I just love this stuff. It’s a high protein, low calorie nut butter. And it’s the key ingredient in my Macro Bites. I’m calling these Macro Bites instead of protein bites or protein balls because they fit my personal macros perfectly. And because I’m still 9 years old on the inside and giggle calling food “balls”.

The basic formula is the same. Two scoops protein powder. Half a cup of G Butter. Half a cup of old fashioned oats. Half a cup of “fun stuff”. About 2 tablespoons of liquid. You can make infinite variations! Here are my 2 favorites. Nutrition info from MyFitnessPal and clearly based on the brands I used.

M&M Macro Bites

1/2 cup old fashioned oats
1/2 cup G butter (brownie batter or white chocolate)
1/2 cup M&M baking bits or mini M&M’s
2 scoops chocolate protein powder
approx 2-3 tbsp water

I’d love to hear if you make these or any other variety using this formula! Also, did I get the lime in the coconut song stuck in your head? What about now???

Wow, these look good! I just made chocolate chip cookies over the weekend using butter (the real stuff) and my family gobbled them down. It’s amazing how much everyone loves baked goods.

I have to laugh about “balls”–it’s a running joke with me and some of my running friends after a night out eating very large hush puppies…

haha, I’m with you there–I try to call them bites instead of balls too. I love the sound of both versions of these! They look so good! :]
