Hey There Friends! It’s the First Saturday of the Month so I thought I’d join Coco and Deborah for the Ultimate Coffee Date linkup. It’s been a while since I’ve had a chance to chat with everyone… so grab a cup of coffee and settle in!
If we were to meet for coffee I’d tell you that I FINALLY got back to the gym this week. I had caught what I thought was Girlie’s cold back at Christmas (no exaggeration, I started getting a scratchy throat on Christmas Eve) and I have literally been coughing ever since. I started getting better for a bit back in January so went back to the gym full force for a week. Which was totally pushing it. I got worse.. wound up at the doctor’s and on a bunch of meds. They’re calling it “the crud” on the news (isn’t that lovely) and saying it can last 6-12 WEEKS! So I’m feeling pretty much 90% with a slight lingering cough. I’ve lost a lot of fitness in two months (two months-ack!) but instead of being frustrated by the loss I’m embracing the chance to get back there. I know I’m not ready to resume or restart Get Jacked right now. So instead I’m doing the revised program I wrote for Girlie. Yep, totally embracing the program I wrote for my 12 year old. Once I’ve done this for a couple of weeks I think I’ll feel ready to re-start Get Jacked.
If we were to meet for coffee I’d ask you how things are going with your health and fitness. Any setbacks or achievements lately?
If we were to meet for coffee I’d tell you that I spent some of that off time adding to my Spotify workout playlists. I rarely seem to take things off of them but sure like to add on. I have a fun rock playlist, a Girl Lifts playlist, a superhero workout playlist (all songs inspired by or featured in superhero or comic book type media), as well as country, classic funk, and golden oldies workout playlists. You haven’t lifted happy ’til you’ve lifted to Elvis.
If we were to meet for coffee I’d ask what you like to listen to when you’re working out. I go through phases of podcasts and music and lately I’m definitely in a music for lifting, podcasts for walking phase. Spenser has been getting me out and walking a lot now that the weather is sunny and warmer. He’s worse than I am for staying in when it’s even a little rainy!
If we were to meet for coffee I’d tell you that my work team are amazing. We’re located all over the country but, just like some of my blog friends who I’ve never met face to face, are becoming true friends. I’m so thankful for the technology that allows me to work from home and meet such amazing people.
If we were to meet for coffee I’d want to know, do you have true friendships with people you’ve never actually met face to face? Do you drive to an office every day or do you work from home?
If we were to meet for coffee I’d want to know what you want to talk about! Then I’d listen, really listen. Because we don’t do enough of that.
