Hey There Friends! Today is the first Saturday of the month so it’s time to link up with Deborah and Coco for the Ultimate Coffee Date! Since we’re all getting good at virtual coffee dates these days, go ahead and pour a cup so we can chat!
If we were meeting for coffee I would want to thank everyone again for being sooo respectful and kind about my post yesterday! I would want to expand on that a bit and talk about how I keep forgetting that I’ve only been in my “new” place since the end of February! Moving just a few weeks before “shelter in place” went into effect sure made the new wear off fast! I’m even thinking about doing some rearranging of my balcony space (where I work most days). While it’s definitely been an adjustment I love my new little home and look forward to actually having friends over! (I never got to do that after getting settled.) Maybe one of these days I’ll do a tour on Insta stories.
If we were meeting for coffee I’d want to know how long you’ve been in your home and if you’ve noticed any spaces that need attention now that you’re home more.
If we were meeting for coffee I’d share that I’ve recently been reading two powerful books by powerful women. One of the things they’ve been inspiring me to do is to WRITE. And to live so much more unapologetically. These seem to be the books of the season, at least for me and the women I know/follow. Neghar Fonooni’s This is Just What it’s Like Sometimes and Glennon Doyle’s Untamed. One of the things that really stood out to me in both of them as far as writing goes is not writing what they feel they’re “supposed to” or even what they intend to or necessarily even want to. But just.. sitting down and writing.
If we were meeting for coffee I’d ask what you’re reading lately. I definitely have time to read and want to hear what’s resounding for you!
If we were meeting for coffee I’d build a bit on those books above and share that I’ve been focusing on writing a lot more lately. More than just here. Ever since… forever? When I was a little girl definitely… I have known I had stories to tell, books to write. I would never have told you I was going to be a writer “when I grow up” though, because I was too afraid of criticism. (Oh that poor anxious little girl.) A couple of years ago I participated in NANOWRIMO (national novel writing month). I never quite finished, but I got a good start going. So now I’m focusing on that story again, getting it organized and really fleshing it out. And I’m journalling almost every day as well.
If we were meeting for coffee I’d want to know if you’ve been writing anything special. Or if there are any hobbies for you that are more than hobbies? Anything that you’re working on that you want to build?
As always, if we were meeting for coffee I’d want to know what you would want to talk about!
