Hey There Friends! I know, I know Mother’s Day was yesterday… but we deserve extra time. And I have some extra fun, extra light links today. In true mom fashion I sort these links like groceries in a bag, the lightest ones at the top and the heaviest at the bottom.
Since a lot of us are watching extra TV these days, here’s a list of the best TV moms for our modern times. I haven’t watched all of these shows so I can’t really agree or disagree. I’m not sure if they left off Lorelei Gilmore on purpose or because of the age of the show. Here’s my list of TV faves with her on it. What do you think? Anyone you’d want to add?
You know I love books! So here’s a post from Barnes and Noble on the 10 Best moms in fiction. I’ve read some of those and agree, but others I’ll have to add to my list! I was happy to see that they agreed with me on Mrs Murray. Do you have any favorite literary moms to add? Or take issue with anyone on the list?
This post isn’t specifically about moms but… I’ve had this my browser for a bit for when I’m choosing a movie and wanting to take things a step further than the Bechdel Test. With that in mind here’s a list of movies that actually represent women well. What do you think?
One of my very favorite sayings is that Comparison is the thief of joy. I’ve found this to be especially true in motherhood. This post from Design Mom really says it best.
And one heavy hitter type post from the Atlantic about the ways strong women leaders are succeeding in fighting Covid-19. Ignore the headline, read the article.
I’ve noticed that as I’ve gotten better about posting these I’m somehow running through my stockpile of coffee memes!! Because of that I’ll be using just one or two each week instead of using them as dividers between each post. Hopefully they aren’t the only reason you’re stopping by on Mondays.
I’d love to hear what you think about the posts above! Also, as always, if you have something you’ve read (or even better!) written that you think I’d like to read or share please share it with me!
